Meet Heather Thomas,

Currently, Heather serves as the Director of Counseling at Grand View University, where she provides short-term therapy services for students, oversees internship programming, and contributes to various university committees, including the Peer Wellness Team and the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. Her work focuses on implementing electronic health records and strategic planning to enhance student wellness and support.

Previously, Heather held leadership roles such as Clinical Director at Eyerly Ball Community Mental Health and Regional Director at Prelude Behavioral Health, where she oversaw clinical operations and fiscal management across multiple counties. Heather’s expertise includes integrating evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing into treatment programs. Her commitment to improving access and care continuity is demonstrated through her involvement in significant projects like the NIMH’s Project Raise.
